Three steps to… using the ‘orders grouped’ tab
Group orders over a set time period by a multitude of metrics to find key insights and opportunities. Understanding order data is as easy as 1, 2, 3….
First: In the orders report, choose the date range you want to analyse and then click on the middle ‘orders grouped’ tab.
Then: Go to the ‘group by’ dropdown list - ‘date’ will be selected by default, so deselect this to aggregate all the data into one line. Now choose any metric, or combination or metrics, you wish to dig into further - be it incentive related, geographical or campaign-based.
Finally: Once you’re happy with your selection, use the data you’re shown to pull some actionable insights. For the below, I can see that Sunday is the most popular day for first-time orders in the chosen time period, therefore I might decide to target engaged Leads with a campaign over the weekend.
Campaign close-up
Tangle Teezer highlighted exactly how to align products with the ease of lockdown restrictions with their great salon companion campaign. Whilst celebrating the reopening of hairdressers up and down the country, Tangle Teezer have ensured that their range remains essential and have used bright and summery content to position products as being complementary to the experience of going to a salon - and even enhancing it. This is a really nice example of relevant marketing: targeting those customers who will be dyeing (!) to go for a professional hair appointment, but will also want to maintain their new locks once home again. A master (brush) stroke!
